Australia and Latin America: Perspectives on evolving relations with China
China’s economic growth has helped fuel a remarkable period of prosperity for Australia. The expansion of Chinese trade and investment has also had an impact on many countries in Latin America. In both cases it has created a very different geoeconomic and geopolitical environment. In the past policy makers in both regions focused on their shared economic interests with China - and separated out political issues. This is no longer possible.
Join the Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies, the Australian Centre on China in the World, the Latin American Program of the Wilson Centre, Cefeidas Group and Global Nexus in a webinar to compare and consider the implications of evolving relations with China in Australia and Latin America, drawing in particular on the cases of Argentina and Mexico.
